About Us
Reyleigh is a modern lifestyle brand developed with California roots.
Drawing influences on art, Mother Nature, and the beautiful sport of skydiving, Reyleigh speaks to unique individuals with a shared livelihood doing what they love.
Our Ambitions
While we are still in our early stages of growth, these are some of Reyleigh's ambitions: Create functional, skydive-specific apparel in addition to our line of lifestyle apparel, increase accessibility to skydiving, inspire the next generation of skydivers, repurpose old, unusable gear (closing loops, lines, parachutes), support skydiving businesses, offset the environmental costs of skydiving, embody a triple bottom line business
Rayleigh Scattering: a physics phenomena
Explanation
Incoming solar particles (consisting of all colors) are deflected, or scattered, off of nitrogen and oxygen molecules in the atmosphere. Blue light scatters more than the other colors because it has a shorter wavelength (more energy). Rayleigh Scattering is the reason why the sky is blue!
Our Story
While completing his skydiving A-license in the winter of 2023, Trevor Shin was eagerly looking for a lifestyle brand to wear as the sport was becoming a large part of his life. To his surprise, everyday apparel brands centered around the sport were nearly non-existent, with options limited to flashy jerseys and clipart logos. Pursuing his B-license and looking forward to a long-term involvement in skydiving, Trevor decided to create Reyleigh, a modern lifestyle brand drawing influences on art, Mother Nature, and the sport of skydiving.
